Grown Up

How do you know when you’ve grown up?  What are the external societal markers that you have indeed matured from a child to a full grown up?

Is it when you finally move out?!?  What if you got kicked out? Is it when you pay all of your bills?  What if bills were put in your name as a child?  Is it when you make all of your decisions solo dolo?!?  Does the magic switch happen once you start a family?!?

Being “grown” appears to be synonymous with independence.  By societal standards, it appears that being a grown up is synonymous with needing your parents less.

What if our growth is determined and super connected (you like that super connection huh) with our purpose?  What if it is connected with the seeds that we plant and nurture?  What if our “grown up” status is connected with how we treat other people?  How about we measure our growth through reflection versus comparison?  What if our "grown up" status is linked to our ability to be grateful for what we have v what we don't have?   How about we determine our growth based on our ability to maintain hope and faith in situations that encourage us to give up and lose sight of who we are and where we are going?
